Kelley, Lindsey, Jr.

The only child of Lindsey and Nannie Honshell Kelley, Lindsey was to a wealthy family. He attended a military school in Heights Town, New Jersey. Unfortunately, he was stricken with rheumatism at an early age. He spent time in Texas and California seeking help from his disease.
In March 1903, he returned to Lawrence County, Ohio for his father’s funeral. His mother was reluctant to see him leave and go so far away. She made arrangements for him to go to Brunton’s Sanitarium in Cincinnati, Ohio. He died at the sanitarium on February 3, 1904. Lindsey was only twenty years old.
His body was brought back to Ironton on the C&O Railroad. His funeral was held at his mother’s house on South 6th Street. He was then taken to Woodland and buried near his father.
